Things to know about Queen of the Night Flower
Epiphyllum oxypetalum is also known as the Queen of the night or princess of the night. It’s a species of cactus and belongs to the family Cactaceae.
The plant mainly has long leaves and short stems. The size of the leaves is between 30-50 cm.The flower may take a long time to come and it blooms only at night and wilts before dawn.
As per the Hindu belief, this plant is holy and they also worship it as it represents the god Vishnu. It’s also known as the Brahma Kamal plant. Where ‘Brahma’ means ‘the soul of God’ and ‘Kamal’ means ‘foot’.
People usually plucked it at night and worshiped it to full fill their dreams, as per their view.
