Jerri Hamlet is belongs to Reasi district of Kashmir. Jammu and Kashmir administration has declared this village as the first Milk Village as it has more than 57 dairy farms under it’s territory.

There are more than 370 cows and 73 individual dairy units working in this village under the special support of IDDS, Integrated Dairy Development Scheme.

This scheme is also provides machinery support to the beneficiaries like for Paneer making machine, khoya making, Ice cream mechine. Maximum subsidy is 3.5 lakh for machine and for milk van it provides a financial subsidy up-to 2 lakh.

Main aim of  Integrated dairy development scheme (IDDS) –

-This scheme was started in the FY 2005-06 under Department of Animal Husbandry.

-The main aim of this scheme is to increase the level of milk supplies by increasing milk production.

-It provides 25% subsidy to the farmers (for SC/STs it is 33.33%).
