Carcass of Whale shark recovered in Jagatsinghpur

The Carcass of Whale shark was recovered by the locals near Siali Beach of Jagatsinghpur district.The shark is around 4ft wide and 20 ft long and weighs nearly 7 to 8 quintal.The whale shark carcass found on Ramtara beach in Jagatsinghpur, Odisha. Photo: Ashis Senapati

While doing patrolling the Forest Squad found the shark half-buried inside the soil. Later shark died due to its critical condition and the body will be going for a postmortem today, reported by Forest Range Officer Ranjan Mishra.

The office will keep the skeleton of the shark for later scientific research and the body will be buried with chemicals.
