Odisha Pangolins are in Peril: Pangolins are the most trafficked animal in the world. In Odisha, their life is in danger. Due to animal trafficking, their population is gradually decreasing. STF is also conducting raids to tackle and burst down the trafficking of Pangolins in Odisha, but it is not sufficient enough. They are killed for their scales which are used to cure illness and used as a traditional medicine in China and Vietnam.

Odisha Pangolins are in Peril

The Wildlife Protection Society of India (WPSI) held a press conference on the life threat of the Pangolins of Odisha. They raised their voices for the protection and conservation of pangolins.

Since 2020, more than 16 live Pangolins have been rescued by the STF and Forest Department. As per a report, nearly 18 Pangolins and 36 kg of scales have been collected by the STF team. Which clearly says about the life threat of the Pangolins of Odisha. They demand a special task force, which will work to control the smuggling of Pangolins in Odisha.
