India under the visionary leadership of PM Modi has promised to hit 500 GW of non-fossil fuel by the end of 2030. In 2014 the installed green energy capacity of India is just only 76.38GW and in just 9 years it reached 172 GW which is more than double.

The clean energy capacity grew sharply by 2.25 times since 2014. Installation of non-fossil fuel capacity in India has increased by 396% in the last 8.5 years. The solar energy capacity of the country has increased by 24.4 times.

India has set a target to reduce the carbon intensity of the nation’s economy by less than 45% by the end of the decade to achieve net-zero carbon emissions by 2070.

  • Wind power: 42.6 GW
  • Solar Power: 66.7 GW
  • Biomass/Co-generation: 10.2 GW
  • Small Hydro Power: 4.94 GW
  • Waste To Energy: 0.55 GW
  • Large Hydro: 46.85 GW

Top Achievements :

  • Renewable energy potential in India – 1,000+ GW
  • Installed renewable energy capacity (as of May 2022)-160 GW
  • India stands 4th globally in Renewable -clean Energy Installed Capacity
  • 4th largest installed wind energy capacity.
