Do mushrooms talk to each other – We human beings talk to each other by using words or expressions. To share some of our thoughts, ideas, and information we use specific languages. Our bodies also have a specific communication mechanism that is called as Nervous System. A group of neurons present in our brain transmits certain chemical signals to transmit information across the body.
Similar to the human nervous system, scientists have found that the mushrooms (fungi) also talk to each other by sharing some chemical signals. With the help of hyphae, they share electrical signals. By doing this one receiver receives a specific signals to analyze the inputs which was given by the sender.
Research published in Royal Society Open Science says that the fungus uses nearly 50 words of vocabulary to share informations. These words are called “fungal word lengths”
