Facts About Pygmy Marmosets
The Pygmy Marmosets is known as : World’s smallest monkey. This belongs to the family Callitrichidae. It is famous for its small size. They are mostly found in the Amazon rainforest in South America.

The weight of this species is nearly 100 grams and its length is 4.6 to 6.2 inches only. The length of its tail is 6.5 to 9.5 inches which are twice its body length.
Instead of nails, they have claws that provide a strong grip at the time of moving. They can run at speeds of up to 20-24 miles per hour and can jump 15 feet into the air. They also can rotate their head for nearly 180 degrees like an owl.
This monkey feeds upon tree gum, leaves, fruits, insects, and nectar. They can live to be 15 to 20 years.
Pygmy marmoset will cost you around $1000 to $4000. But as per Section 22 (ii), PCA Act 1960 you can not keep this animal in India.
