Mangalajodi is situated in the North-Eastern Part of Chilika.This is the largest brackish water lake of Asia and is also known as the “Birds Paradise of Asia”.
According to a bird census carried out in Chilika, the lake is hosting a congregation of more than 1.1 million winged guests this winter, comprising 183 different species.
