New guests of Nandankanan Zoo: It is the Asia Largest Zoo of Asia and is spread over an area of 1500 sq. km. To enhance the beauty of this zoo Nandanakanan Zoo Authority along with the Tourism department of Odisha has taken many initiative projects. In recent days state government of Odisha is planning to increase the size of this zoo by adding more 1000 sq km area.

On 23rd December two guest species arrived at Nandankanan Zoo. One is Meerkat and the other is Black Swan. In the Animal exchange process, Nandankanan got five Black Swan and four Meerkats from the Mahisur zoo of Karnatak.

For the first time in history, Meerkats are brought to Nandankanan Zoo. It is mostly found in African deserts and looks like a mongoose. They are very active and look very cute. All nine animals are found healthy and will be shown to the public on the foundation day of Nandankanan Zoo.

It’s a good sign for the Zoo and also helps to attract many visitors.
